Danish company Foss spent USD 4 million on developing a new technology for the measurement of fat analysis content in meat. According to Foss, the aptly-named equipment MeatMaster is able to analyse the exact fat content in entire batches of meat products. "MeatMaster features dual X-ray technology, which uses electromagnetic radiation of a high frequency. This makes it possible to accurately determine the fat content analysis in meat owing to a small difference in the X-ray absorption of lean and fat tissue," said the company in a recent statement. The appeal of the new product, declares the Danish company, is that up to now meat manufacturing companies have been unable to measure the exact fat percentage when tons of meat were to be processed. |
